Understanding the vision

Crafting the strategy

To attract new students at the beginning of the academic year and maintain engagement with existing customers, I designed a multi-layered approach focused on creative, policy-compliant advertising. Social media became our primary marketing channel since the bar had never leveraged it effectively before, allowing us to reach large student audiences in a way they hadn't previously explored. Campaigns centered around the bar’s atmosphere, interior, and cocktails, using visually appealing videos and photos that conveyed the experience without violating platform rules. At the start of the semester, we launched targeted awareness campaigns aimed at new arrivals, local students, and individuals interested in nightlife and lifestyle content. To differentiate the bar from competitors, we organized unique events such as sushi nights, live music evenings, and themed parties, giving potential customers new reasons to visit. Retargeting reinforced brand familiarity and encouraged repeat visits by highlighting signature cocktails, interior updates, and ongoing promotions.

Driving results

The combined strategy delivered strong, consistent outcomes. The bar experienced a significant increase in foot traffic and maintained high occupancy levels throughout the semester. Frequent full-capacity days became the norm rather than the exception. Demand grew so steadily that the bar expanded and added more space for tables, allowing it to accommodate the continuous flow of new customers. Most importantly, the influx of new visitors successfully offset the natural turnover of graduating students, enabling the business to grow sustainably in a competitive environment.

In conclusion

Through creative, compliant social media advertising, event-driven marketing, and strong seasonal awareness campaigns, I helped the bar achieve sustained growth in a challenging student neighborhood. By finally activating social media as a primary marketing channel — something they had never done before due to policy concerns — we unlocked a new source of consistent customer acquisition.
